We promote a positive work environment with a supportive culture that prioritises kindness and care. We support our people through employee engagement, reward and recognition, and wellbeing initiatives.
Employee Forum and employee survey
Everyone has a voice at Ageas. We canvas employees’ views throughout the business, consult them often on how we can improve, and listen to their experiences.
Our Employee Forum meets quarterly with Executive Team members to discuss our people’s questions. We also hold a regular employee survey that informs and guides our organisational decision-making. Our engagement score is high and shows our people would recommend Ageas as a good place to work.
Through this forum and survey, our people have a voice that can influence the Executive Team and lead to definitive action. Our hybrid and flexible working approach and reward review are two examples that began this way.
Health and wellbeing
We understand the importance of living a healthy lifestyle and achieving a good work life balance. We have several initiatives to support our people in managing their physical and mental health, their work-life balance, and their wellbeing, including financial. These include our cycle to work scheme, health assessments and annual flu jabs, flexible working, and an employee assistance programme.
Mind
Our Mental Health First Aid team offers employees the opportunity to discuss problems and directs those who may need further support towards the right professional help.
Body
We like to support our people to be at their best, so we offer a range of fun sports and social activities, challenges and initiatives, as well as health assessments and on-site health checks, annual flu jabs, and a cycle to work scheme.
Financial
We want to do what we can to help our people be and feel financially healthy and secure. This has been particularly important during the cost-of-living crisis. We offer a range of tools, information, and guidance on navigating finances, as well as direct practical support such as reasonably priced meals at our office restaurants, and access to a discounted shopping scheme.
Flexible working
Our commitment to flexible and hybrid working through our Smart Working @ Ageas initiative allows us to meet our people’s changing needs and preferences, such as being able to do the school run, or manage the care of loved ones.
Most of our people enjoy a mix of home and office working for when they need to meet and collaborate in one location.
Our flexible approach means we can suit a variety of customer needs.
- Attract talent that would otherwise be unavailable
- Help build a more diverse workforce
- Reduce people’s commuting
- Lower carbon emissions through fewer car journeys
Rewards and recognition
We are committed to rewarding our people for their hard work and achievements, including reviewing salaries, bonuses and benefits, and assessing ways to improve our rewards proposition.
Our Ageas Stars annual award scheme recognises our top performers across five categories with cash prizes and an extra five days’ holiday each.
Our VIP (Values in Practice) awards are designed to complement our annual Ageas Stars awards, by giving more frequent, local recognition throughout the year. These awards recognise our people who live our values every day by delivering excellent customer service, supporting colleagues, or developing innovative ideas to improve and grow our business.
Our Make a Difference Awards honour managers’ efforts and commitment.
