For customers either aged 60 and over or that meet the Blue Lamp Trust’s vulnerability criteria, this offers added security and peace of mind to Rias home insurance policyholders.
Available in the Hampshire area to the first 200 eligible customers who apply, the Ring Doorbell is completely free and expertly installed.
In line with the Blue Lamp Trust’s overall mission and its Bobby Scheme, the camera and speaker built into these doorbells can enhance security, safety, and subsequently the wellbeing of individuals.
As customers aged over 60 living in Hampshire, Lawrence Andrews and his wife received the email from Rias offering them the opportunity to apply for a free Ring Doorbell.
Upon receiving the offer email, Lawrence said: “When outside help comes, you grab it and be grateful. The roof of our house is at road level, so a Ring Doorbell adds a little bit more security.”
“We live in an area where there are a lot of elderly people. If anything does go on, it can help us and help the police.”
Lawrence welcomed the additional crime and fire prevention survey the Bobby Scheme offers, saying: “All these added things make life a bit easier. I think it’s brilliant, and they were very helpful and reassuring.”
“Our two daughters have video doorbells, it’s good to know who is at your door when you’re not around. I have me and my wife to look after, and there is access to the back of the property.”
As the fitter talked Lawrence through the doorbell app following installation, he remarked on how good the image quality was on his phone.
He added: “The fitter has been really helpful, very informative and professional.”
Caroline King, Customer Operations Director at Ageas, said: “As part of our ongoing partnership with the Blue Lamp Trust, we are pleased to be able to support this local initiative. It has been really positive to see our older and more vulnerable customers in Hampshire benefiting from the increased security this technology can offer.”
