To mark Ride to Work Week taking place from 20 to 26 June, Ageas has revealed the top 20 locations across the UK for motorcycle ownership. Three locations that are home to Ageas offices make the list, with Portsmouth taking third spot, Gloucester at 19, and Southampton at 20. Sheffield and Birmingham complete the top three.

Ageas is again supporting the Ride to Work initiative this year by extending cover for motorcycle policyholders to commute to work for the week at no extra cost. The UK’s second largest motorcycle insurer is also encouraging its employees with motorcycles to ride to work at its eight locations across the UK.

Ride to Work Week is organised by the Motorcycle Industry Association of which Ageas is a member.  The campaign in the UK conveys the many benefits of motorcycling in terms of money savings, reduced congestion, less harmful emissions, more flexibility and the opportunity to join a strong community of riders.

Rob Clark, Niche Schemes Underwriting Manager for Personal Motor at Ageas said: “We are very happy to support Ride to Work Week 2016 by extending motorcycle policyholders’ cover and spreading awareness of this annual campaign to encourage motorcyclists to use their two wheels to get to work.  Now, with more than 1.3 million motorcycles on the roads in the UK, riding a motorcycle is not only a more cost-effective way to travel than using a car - it’s often quicker!  It’s great that three of the regions where we have offices feature in the top 20 for motorcycle ownership.  We’re hoping some of our employees will take to two wheels over the course of the week.”
