Ageas, a local employer, is proud to announce the latest milestone in its ongoing “Laptops for Schools” initiative, with the donation of 10 laptops to Holmleigh Park High School, Gloucester.
Ageas’s Laptops for Schools programme takes refurbished laptops from the business and gives them a second life in schools, thereby supporting students’ education.
Employees are invited to nominate a school in their local community to receive the laptops. Holmleigh Park High School in Gloucester was nominated by Claims Consultant Karen Hill, who is based at Ageas’s Gloucester office.
Tommy O’Gallagher, Deputy Headteacher at Holmleigh Park High School, expressed his gratitude: "In these challenging times, when budgets are tight, being part of this initiative means a lot. We currently have around 500 Chrome Books, which clearly isn’t enough for all students, so this generous donation opens up new avenues for us. These laptops will find their way to the students and families who will benefit most from them.”
Mark Tyrrell, Ageas Chief Information Officer said: “The “Laptops for Schools” initiative is part of Ageas’s broader commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. By repurposing old laptops, Ageas not only reduces electronic waste but also provides valuable resources to schools, helping to bridge the digital divide and support educational equity.”
