Research from Ageas UK and YouGov uncovers the public’s attitudes towards insurance fraud. The study found that nearly one in five people (19%) believe it’s justifiable not to disclose the full truth on an insurance application - a figure that rises to 21% among those with motor insurance.

Ageas has today announced the successful completion of its acquisition of esure Group, following full regulatory approval and the agreement reached with Bain Capital in April 2025. This is a key milestone in Ageas UK’s strategy to become a leading personal lines insurer in the UK.

Research from Ageas UK and YouGov shows that the public doesn’t view insurance fraud as a one-size-fits-all issue. Instead, respondents distinguish between types of fraud based on their perception of harm, intent, and scale - revealing a more nuanced perspective of what constitutes wrongdoing.

Ageas has re-enforced its commitment to the UK broker market by joining the Co-op Insurance household panel, further strengthening its presence in the UK home insurance market.
